What if the whole 2012 incident really happens?

I know you all have heard about 2012, the end of the world. But my thing is, if this day really happens, could’nt we all just go to another planet and survive there? Like i read on yahoo this morning that scientist discovered a new planet that they said is just like earth, maybe we could live there. Or is 2012 just an idea or a myth? I guess we all have to just wait and see eh….? Or like on the movie Wall E, we could all live on a giant spaceship orbiting outer space? Just curious here…. 🙂

It isn’t going to happen because there is no reason for it to happen. There is absolutely zero evidence that 2012 will be anything other than an ordinary year. The whole thing was made up by crackpots and hoaxers to make money and they are doing that very well.
I guess if you believe this hoax, I shouldn’t be surprised that you would believe that we could travel to a planet 20 light years away or that we could build a ship large enough to hold 6.8 billion people and the necessary food, water, and atmosphere for them. It’s a good thing nothing is going to happen because we can’t do those things.

Yeah I read it too, and it sounds like BS, plus isn;t it still to far away for our technology? I mean just going to like Uranus or something like that takes years.

2012 is a myth and if it happens so what we die.

It would of happened over 4000 years ago, it’s over year 6000 China.

Y2K didn’t end us, neither did the prediction in 2000, sure there were red skies but that’s it. And no Mayan predicted it would end, a Mahayanist came to a crazy girl’s house on Wife Swap.

2012 is just a year. There are many different calendars that have been used throughout history, each of them based around a different event. The calendar we use today is based around the birth of Christ. According to the Egyptian calendar, we are already in the nine-thousands. But the events are very likely to happen, maybe not on Dec 21, 2012 though.

I’m a believer in the 2012 stuff.

The planet can’t go on much longer can it ?

Mother Nature will sort out overpopulation etc.

You maybe able to go to another planet, or stay in a space station, but there will be a long queue.

OBAMA first, The POPE, UK’s Royal Family, Bankers – and the tickets will be expensive.

If it does happen, there is no escape and there is nothing anyone can do about it given the current technology! And if all life is ending what could be so wrong , not like you are missing the bus to your favorite movie or something 🙂 So Chill! and Enjoy life!
Thinking otherwise, you don’t know what could happen to you tomorrow. Any one could die before 2012 , so why would 2012 be any special? So Chill again ! and Enjoy life even more!
Either way, it is either too far or either too close to be worth worrying about.

Even if it’s possible to live in another planet or ride a spaceship, we won’t have enough time. There are billions of people in this planet and how many times would that spaceship go back and forth? Who knows how many lightyears that other planet from earth is? Plus, all the resources are still in earth, it’s not easy to construct all those buildings & houses, and plant all those trees. We won’t be able to do it in 2 years time. But I believe about the 2012 thing, although, I think with prayers and faith, we can still be saved from the end of the world, again. I hope the whole world realizes this so that we may be given another chance.

None of it will happen so it’s a waste of time speculating about what to do. It occupies the minds of new-age nutcases, conspiracy theorists and the incurably gullible. The rest of us don’t bat an eyelid because it’s all made up nonsense. Every bit of it. Read below for details.

IF 2012 catastrophe prediction does happen we are all doomed and there is nothing to do but accept it.

There is no possibility to travel to another planet even if we knew for certain that it could support human life. That Planet you are talking about is 20 light years away, without the ability to travel faster than light it would take a ship some 76.5 thousand years to get there. A lot can happen in that amount of time. Even if we could build a ship that would last that long it would take 956 generations which means that those who got there would be telling stories to their children about their great^n grandparents, that’s a lot of greats.

The logistics of such a feat is phenomenal. You first have to build the ship that will last forever. It has to be big enough to accommodate enough people to have sufficient gene pool to prevent inbreeding. To ensure the survival of the species they would have to select only those with the best genes and with a high degree of intelligence. That leaves out the common folk. Then you would need to stock the ship with all the necessities, food, water, air etc. You would need the ability to replenish these things for the eons it would take to get there. Life on board this generation ship would have to be strictly controlled to ensure survival. No room for democracy.

Even if you can successfully put a person into suspended animation for that period of time so that the original crew arrives there. You would have to have a ship that could fly it self through space and make course corrections all without human interaction for 76 thousand plus years.

Conclusion: if 2012 disaster happens we are all screwed. May as well open a can of beer and toast the end of the world.

If you are truly worried about the "end of the world in 2012" as supposedly predicted by the Mayans than maybe all of you should do your own research and shine some light on the truth.

The Mayan calander did not predict the end of the world, nor did the calender end.

Whats sad is that most people need this explanation because they are so easily influenced by other people who may or may not have any credibility. The Mayans did not predict the end of the world, they predicted a new cycle of earth. According to them the Earth has already been through several cycles.

Now tell me, if earth were going to blow up, the universe destroyed, and all the people killed, why would the Mayans make predictions of dates beyond Dec 21, 2012? Why wouldn’t they simply state that theory of everything being destroyed. Obviously they weren’t scared of making bold claims.

Well girl we can’t even go to the moon because a man called Obama killed funding for a little project called "Orion".

Also I’d imgine the idea behind 2012 was to end all traces of human technology, so you end up killng everybody off planet also. Your question is a catch 22, which shows the failure of thinking like a 2012er.

Good idea,
I vote that all the Bankers, Brokers and hairdressers should go first, because when the rest of us get there – we’re going to need a financial system and a good haircut first.

Good idea. Just hop on to the next bus there…

1. There is no bus there.
2. Even if there were, we couldn’t transport the whole world.
3. Even if we had a spaceship to do the job, the best spaceship we could build might make it only to the moon, mars, or perhaps one of saturn’s or jupiter’s or neptune’s moons. We don’t know of any place where current technology would allow a colony to survive. So we really couldn’t save a few people.

This is of course all based on the (false) assumption that anything outside of the ordinary will happen in 2012. There will be fires, earthquakes, perhaps a big wave, perhaps some volcanic eruptions, definitely some storms, just like there are every year. But nothing world-wide in scale, unless it’s a comet, asteroid, or super volcano.

They’re making odds in Los Vegas if you want to make a bet. It’s a sucker bet, though.
