Doomsday: Getting ahead of the curve?

I know this doesn’t have too much to do with astronomy, but I’m asking it here because this is where we usually end up cursed with all the tedious 2012 apocalypse questions.

If we take a look at the date of the 2012 doomsday and the dates of the last two apocalypses on January 1, 2000 and June 6, 2006, we see an interesting pattern in that each successive armageddon seems to be placed about six years after the last one. More precisely, there are 2348 days between January 1, 2000 and June 6, 2006, and 2390 days between June 6, 2006 and December 21, 2012, a difference of 42 days. If we add 42 days again we get 2432 days, and 2432 days after December 21, 2012 is August 19, 2019. So it appears that, once December 21, 2012 has passed with absolutely nothing happening, as we all know it will, the mathematically perfect date for the NEXT doomsday is August 19, 2019, or 19/8/19, which is also a fairly aesthetically pleasing number.

So, what do you think? Should we all start writing books now about how there will be an apocalypse of some kind in 2019, and get ready to publish them as soon as 2012 is over? Apparently lots of people already think an asteroid is going to crash into the Earth in 2019, and, although that was already ruled out years ago by observations of the asteroid’s orbit, if the 2012 nonsense we keep on seeing is any indication, the ignorant masses couldn’t care less whether scientific facts contradict their doomsday. Besides, I’m sure we can think up something involving an alien invasion or the Yellowstone supercaldera or something like that to back up on in case people wise up to the asteroid thing, and if we can find some ancient calendar that flips over on that date, so much the better. If we all work together on this, we should able to pull it off. This could just be our chance to make millions! What do you think? Sound like a plan?
Will: Actually, the asteroid I was referring to was a different asteroid, 2002 NT7.

Are there any books about Christian prophecy that are NOT written by crackpots or doomsday fear mongers?

Are there any books about biblical prophecy that are written from a more liberal, open minded perspective?

Other than for the money, I can’t imagine why people keep writing books which predict the world to end soon. There were major books saying the world would end in 2008, 2009, and there are others for the years 2010 through 2012. 2012, of course, is the big one.

Any suggestions?
