Beyond 2012 Survival & Trauma TWO Person Escape Kit.mpg

Available at: www.survivalmetrics.com You may be among those who believe some cataclysm awaits us in the not-so-distant future, based on prophecy, religion, or other sources. You may be among those who think all of that is just a bunch of bull. One thing we know is for certain: calamities and disasters, whether environmental or societal, can and do happen with traumatic results for the victims. Unstable regimes and economies, warfare, civil strife, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. These are nothing new and happen no matter what we believe. Your best bet in these scenarios is to be prepared, and be ready to leave in an instant if that proves to be the best way to safety. The hazards in these scenarios present similar needs: shelter, water, food, heat, signaling, and first aid. Other events need additional protections, such as radiological (nuclear) events and airborne viruses. And, consideration about maintaining a low profile, versus a high profile, depending on the civil conditions at the time may be necessary. This is where the Beyond 2012 Survival, Trauma, & Disaster Two Person Escape Kit comes in to play. Addressing all of the core needs of typical survival scenarios, but adding additional protections for radiological events and airborne viruses for two people. All the while enabling you to maintain a lower profile if needed, but able to signal for aid readily. Small enough to take anywhere, and just under 3 pounds. On a long enough timeline, all of these events may occur

Tarp Shelter with a Carbon Fiber Chimney

There were lots of discussions on some of the forums about having a stove in a tent, how safe it was and how portable it was. I rarely use a tent and I had a hanging grill that I wanted to use in an inclosed tarp during cold or wet weather. I had tossed around several designs but came up blank until I found out about Flexible Carbon Fiber blankets. Carbon Fiber blanket was .23. Stainless steel strapping was .50. It was very very hard to assemble this, I needed six hands. After this initial test I can tell this is going to be fantastic for in shelter cold weather trips.

Hidden and Forgotten.

In the National Forests of the United States there are countless campsites that are no longer maintained and are rotting away. If you know where these are, not only is it a fun way to spend some time exploring. In a survival situation, making one of these hidden unknown places your bug out location could prove to be a good choice.

“Tip Of The Week” – 2 Minute, Heated Emergency Shelter (E12)

IntenseAngler’s “Tip Of The Week”, Episode 12. A quick, easy, and compact emergency shelter. While many of us posses the skills necessary to construct an elaborate survival shelter, the reality is that most persons who become lost or stranded do not take the time to stop well before dark and build such a shelter… their primary focus is on getting “found”. It is not until darkness has settled in that they realize that they may very well be forced to stay the night… by then it is generally too late for shelter building. This simple system composed of only a few, lightweight items has the capability to see you through a long, cold night. At the core of this shelter system are artificial hand-warmers. These chemical heat producers not only provide a source of much needed warmth, but allow your body to retain energy by burning less of it to keep warm. About “Tip Of The Week”: In this new weekly series we will be sharing some wide-ranging outdoor centered tips, tricks, ideas, and “how-to'” videos in a short, concise, and to-the-point manner. A new video will be posted every Friday (as interest dictates). As part of this new series, I will be featuring a different channel each week in the “intro” segment of the video. If you would like your channel featured (or simply want to support the series), please contact me via PM and we can easily set that up. Your participation will be greatly appreciated! I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks as always for watching, and for
