Are Progressives destroying the Democrat Party?

Many Democrats believe so:

“Democrats need to rise up within the party and say enough is enough. We have allowed ourselves to be carried far too far to the left of the mainstream. You know what word I cannot stand? Progressive. Enough with this “progressive” crap. Shut up about it. We are Democrats. Anyone who wants to call themselves a Progressive I say show them the door – they are doing nothing but killing the Democratic Party. And regardless of whether or not we survive the November midterms with a majority, Nancy Pelosi must step down or be removed as Speaker. That is an absolute must – I cannot emphasize that point enough. She is political poison on the national level. Second, President Obama must fully engage himself with the requirements of the job. He must surround himself with people who understand the tone and temperament of the country because he clearly does not. And if he can’t or won’t do this, he needs to not run for reelection in 2012.”

Realistically, when does the GOP stand a chance of regaining power?

I’ve seen people say they will be back in 2010 or 2012, but it sounds like sports fans blindly cheering for their team. I’ve not heard a reason why except "because the other guy will fail," which there is no way to predict.

Historically, the party having to defend the most seats will usually lose a few in a midterm election. The Democrats have more house seats to defend, so the GOP could gain some ground in 2010, but not much. On the other hand, Republicans who came to power in 2004 on Bush’s coattails will have to defend their Senate seats–there are more GOP seats up than Democrats in 2010.

As of 2008, 36% of registered voters are NOT white. This number will only increase with each subsequent election. If Republicans are content to complain about how the liberals only want to help minorities, how do they expect to win without tapping into that portion of registered voters? Not to mention not reaching out to gay or urban voters at all?

For the sake of the GOP, is there any strategy or movement afoot to address 100% of the voters, or do people really believe they can survive with only appealing to evangelicals, white southerners, and fiscal conservatives?

Everyone knows Obama is the Anti-Christ, so how do we make sure he stays in power to fulfill the prophecies?

We God fearing Christians, need not vote in 2012. Let the Democrats vote for him and win. And Jesus will be with us soon, very soon. And we will have the final victory.

Will the bill presenting "cut, cap, and balance" pass the liberal senate and the President?

Sounds to me as not a bad plan to make the American people aware just how much Obama is willing to show serious leadership..!. No need to negotiate anything. The House will most likely pass what they want and leave it to the liberals in the Senate and Obama to figure out what they want.
Have a conference committee and put the pressure upon the President and the liberal Senate.
If the GOP or some party doesn’t deal with democrats now, it may very well be too late for "regime change" in 2012. It is very obvious to anyone paying even slight attention that the country is going to h*ll. The debt ceiling debate is turning into a war to save the country. In a war, you just can’t put the battles to be fought on hold — it doesn’t work that way because the enemy will keep on advancing! Make no mistake, America is in a war and if the heart and soul of the country are to survive, America needs to fight it NOW! Remember this President won the 2008 election and never kept any campaign promises – then he bully’s [ not through congress but through -executive order] his way along his own path without regard for taxpayer citizens, or consider what they truly want.
Obama turns a 0B deficit (Bush’s) into a TRIL one and then refuses to reduce spending by an amount equal to or greater than the requested debt ceiling increase, telling Cantor "Don’t call my bluff."→??→ Even if they cut .4TRIL, it’s over 10 years,so what good is 0B per year when the deficit is TRIL? And Obama is so indignant about it. He, not Bush owns this sad economy.
And the cut,cap and balance the budget bill is the only reasonable one being advanced.

.

.
Ah→Sorry, but where I now live Fox News is not available.
Politically speaking it would not make the Senate and President [ both liberal ] look kinda not serious ].→Look at "no unions" answer..the statistics…and it becomes very clear that the proposed bill is very reasonable.
OMG!→Yeah, White Flag..I mean a war..lol..a Nuclear one to boot!..Really..get serious><

Why are Democrats so angry with Obama?

Is it because Obama hung them all out to dry when they needed him the most?

The following was written by one of Obama’s staffers:

“We were led to believe this man was one thing, but everything I have seen, heard, and understand, points to the indisputable fact he is not what we hoped for. Not what we were promised. Maybe he might have been. Maybe a full term or two in the Senate and he would have had the experience and maturity to handle the job of President of the United States. But right now – the man is simply not up to the task, and yet it is loyal Democrats who are paying the price for his incompetence and incoherence. The health care bill? Do you know I was told he has never read the bill? Not one part of it? NOT ONE. Sounds like something you would hear on one of the talk radio shows, right? And I wouldn’t normally consider such a possibility, but this came directly from one of those good Democrats who might now see their political careers ended because they supported that bill and now its being used against them like some political sledgehammer. How is that supposed to make someone who put their career on the line feel? Betrayed. A whole lot of us are feeling betrayed these days and it just pisses me off.”

“There were some who voiced concerns. Some who pushed for a more clear economic agenda. Apparently Obama wanted none of it – he was obsessed, absolutely obsessed with getting some kind of healthcare legislation. And the ones who did voice concerns…they are, or will be, among the first to go. And it’s coming sooner rather than later.”

“…if he [Obama] does not fully engage in the job of president. If he does not even begin to live up to his own potential…Democrats must take measures to provide an alternative in 2012. The country simply cannot afford another second Obama term like these first two years. It is simply too difficult a time for America to have the Democratic Party act so irresponsibly.”

“My ties to the 2008 Obama campaign feel more and more these days like a dishonorable victory.”

“All kinds of news is going to be coming surrounding the Obama White House and the Democrat leadership. Watch for Pelosi in particular. That will be the key when you know the door is getting kicked open and the truth of just how chaotic things have become gets out into the open. I will say it again – Pelosi is the key. It is going to be ugly for Democrats, but people need to keep the faith. The party will emerge from this – and hopefully in time for 2012.”

Nancy Pelosi is the key…

Are conservatives less self-actualized than liberals.?

It seems like the conscious of conservatives dwell in the lower, survival based human needs while the liberals concentrate on the higher more evolutionary advanced self-actualizing needs.

Evidence–much of the conservative framing is centered around FEAR–fear of bankruptcy from the GOP created debt, Fear of terrorists from the GOP created wars, FEAR of Democrats winning again in 2012, etc.

Is Sarah Palin the future of the Republican party?

I don’t understand why Republicans who barely survived the last november election have come to think the problem is they have not been farther to the right. I think it’s every democrats dream to run against sarah palin in 2012.

Repubs, based on the electoral map, can you see why you cannot win back the oval office in 2012 or beyond?

First off, it is predicted that by 2050, there will be no "Majority" race, and the democrats ALWAYS carry the minority vote. There’s something to think about.

Now lets look at the states:

New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada – Swing states which Obama won. Rising Hispanic population.

Arizona: A trending blue state with rising Hispanic population. Obama lost here only because it is McCain’s home state.

Florida – Always a swing state, but rising Cuban American population who are applying for citizenship or being granted citizenship via birth, and can vote at 18. In future elections this will be considered "leaning blue."

Texas – This will stay red for a few elections, but the rising Hispanic population will make it a swing state by, I predict, 2020.

Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina – Obama won two of these, and lost the other two by narrow margins. The key here is the rising black population, even without a black candidate running, in every election since 1932 the democratic candidate has carried the black vote by north of eighty percent.

When you give the democratic candidate their solid blue states (the John Kerry states plus Iowa)-you’ll see that winning any combination of the above gives the presidential election to the democrat.

Republicans – now what are you going to do?

How will the Republican party seperate itself from bigotry and racism for 2010 and 2012?

The majority of society believes the Republican party is for racist white men. Of course they deny this constantly, but no one can ignore the fact that the party primarily attracts white men.

So why is this? Why don’t more Hispanics, Blacks, Jews, women, etc feel welcomed by the party?

With all the rapidly changing demographics in the U.S. I can’t see the Republican party ever recovering. The only way for it to recover is for it to become a different party. If that happens.. the bigot KKK party base will leave and that will weaken the party further.

The Republican party is on life support. Will it survive?

I see the next trend being Democrats vs. Independents.

Do you think it will be moral values that will propel the GOP back into power in 2012?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/25/questions-mount-sanford-survive-governor/

Even despite the Sanford and Ensign mini-scandels, the GOP’s numbers are rising, and Americans are now looking at the Republicans to fix all the messes that the Democrats have created, fact.

According to many news sources, the GOP will retake Congress in 2010 and the White House in 2012 on the principles of moral and fiscal values, fact.

So are Dems scared? I can feel the desperation even on these message boards. They know its all over, and that the GOP will retake control and instill moral values into our government and our lives, fact.
