Beyond 2012 Survival & Trauma TWO Person Escape Kit.mpg

Available at: www.survivalmetrics.com You may be among those who believe some cataclysm awaits us in the not-so-distant future, based on prophecy, religion, or other sources. You may be among those who think all of that is just a bunch of bull. One thing we know is for certain: calamities and disasters, whether environmental or societal, can and do happen with traumatic results for the victims. Unstable regimes and economies, warfare, civil strife, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. These are nothing new and happen no matter what we believe. Your best bet in these scenarios is to be prepared, and be ready to leave in an instant if that proves to be the best way to safety. The hazards in these scenarios present similar needs: shelter, water, food, heat, signaling, and first aid. Other events need additional protections, such as radiological (nuclear) events and airborne viruses. And, consideration about maintaining a low profile, versus a high profile, depending on the civil conditions at the time may be necessary. This is where the Beyond 2012 Survival, Trauma, & Disaster Two Person Escape Kit comes in to play. Addressing all of the core needs of typical survival scenarios, but adding additional protections for radiological events and airborne viruses for two people. All the while enabling you to maintain a lower profile if needed, but able to signal for aid readily. Small enough to take anywhere, and just under 3 pounds. On a long enough timeline, all of these events may occur

Tarp Shelter with a Carbon Fiber Chimney

There were lots of discussions on some of the forums about having a stove in a tent, how safe it was and how portable it was. I rarely use a tent and I had a hanging grill that I wanted to use in an inclosed tarp during cold or wet weather. I had tossed around several designs but came up blank until I found out about Flexible Carbon Fiber blankets. Carbon Fiber blanket was .23. Stainless steel strapping was .50. It was very very hard to assemble this, I needed six hands. After this initial test I can tell this is going to be fantastic for in shelter cold weather trips.

Neck Knife Survival Kit

Another survival kit option. This one is slightly less comprehensive than the altoid’s tin, but still offers: fire, water, signalling, navigation, and some cordage for shelter building. It should be able to help substantially in your fight for survival if you were to become lost or stranded in the outdoors. The kit is based on the Condor Fidelis neck knife.

What Would You Do Without Food!

What type of emergency or survival foods you want to stockpile depends a lot on what kind of preparedness plan you have in mind. If you have a rural retreat somewhere and are stocking it with not only food and water, but also have an alternative source of energy available there, you will be able to get pretty creative with your food storage supply. However, if you are only thinking basic urban survival, and simply want to have something on hand to get you through a few days or weeks while you decide what your next plan of action is then you are more limited to what you may want to store up for yourself. Especially if you do not have a back-up energy plan in mind. Without the means to cook your food and the possibility of having to use your water sparingly, will make a huge difference in what you will able to do with food preparation. We highly recommend storing more than just survival food packages. Essentials such as first aid kits, safe drinking water, etc, are just as, if not more important than food as you can go a long time without food, if you have to, but without proper medical assistance or water, a person can die quickly in crisis events. At this time there is no immediate panic on food storage units. That could change overnight, believe me! When the swine flu threat happened, many of our online suppliers of food units, especially the freeze dried foods, went to back-order status within a few days. Imagine having to wait for several weeks, and then not knowing if
