Visit signifies.net for fascinating blogs on astronomy contributed by authors with rare talent. 23 March 2002 Using the Hubble Space Telescope, for the first time, astronomers have observed the atmosphere of an extrasolar planet evaporating off into space. Much of this planet may eventually disappear, leaving only a dense core. The planet is a type of extrasolar planet known as a ‘hot Jupiter’. These giant, gaseous planets orbit their stars very closely, drawn to them like moths to a flame. This programme tells of the astronomers findings and includes graphic animations of the Hubble Space Telescope.

In this video we take a quick tour of popular springtime objects, including many galaxies and some early views of summer observing targets. The planets Venus, Mars and Saturn are dominating the night skies and always worth taking a look at. On May 20th at sunset there will be an annular solar eclipse visible from the US, favoring those near the west coast. Also Budd Hopkins, the famous author is interviewed in here as well. Part 3 (Socorro Encounter) at 34:34 is about a very famous UFO sighting by a credible witness (Lonnie Zamora) A police officer on duty. He actually saw “figures” coming out of the spcae craft and walking about. Then the craft took off and disappeared in the skies. They also interviewed (the brave) Capt. Richard T Holder of the White Sand AFB who initiated the investigation into this matter back in 1964. Part 4 at 47:35 (Kecksburg UFO),1965′s famous Pensylvania sighting by the people of Kechspurg PA. The people of this town have kept the model of UFO (Acorn shape)built by UM (same one used in this TV episode) and have set it up on a tower as a reminder of government’s coverups in UFO matters.
